The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders.
Keystone Walk To Emmaus Community is affiliated with UPPER ROOM Walk to Emmaus. We’re one of four communities in Pennsylvania and one of many in the United States and around the world. For more information about the Walk to Emmaus, click here.
As a community, we host four different walks (see schedule for dates), two of which happen twice per year. We also have FOURTH DAY gatherings and REUNION GROUPS that happen throughout the year.

- Men’s Walks (in April and October)
- Women’s Walks (the weekend after to men’s walk in April and October)

Everyone is welcome to join our various gatherings.
Come to our gathering on November 14 at Witmers UMC in Port Trevorton, Pa. We have a covered dish dinner at 5 p.m. with a program of music and communion following. If you’ve never been to a Keystone Emmaus gathering before, send an email to Aneta Van Horn, our lay director, beforehand so that she can welcome you. In order to participate in a WALK, we’d like you to be sponsored, by someone who has done “the walk.” If you’ve been on a walk before, and would like to participate in BACKGROUND or CANDLELIGHT, contact Aneta Van Horn or Bob Baxter, 717-368-1801 . For places and dates, see the SCHEDULE page.

We have planned a few events to enjoy fellowship of our community members.
Saturday, July 11, 2009 – Keystone Emmaus/Chrysalis Knoebel’s Day in Elysburg.
We will be meeting at Pavilion N at 1pm and head into the park for the afternoon. If you would like to join us, but will not be there by 1pm, when you arrive call either Tammy at 570-259-0146 or Erin at 570-809-2048 and we will give you a current location of where you can find us. We will be joining the rest of the community at 5pm back at pavilion N for a covered dish meal and Gathering celebration. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the afternoon together.
Saturday, August 8, 2009 – Challenge Family Fun Center & Gathering at Trinity UMC in Hummelstown.
We will meet at Trinity UMC at 2pm then travel to the Challenge Family Fun Center in Hummelstown. We are scheduled for some Mini-Bowling (Duck Pin Bowling) which will cost $2.50 per game. The facility also has an arcade and miniature golf. Pizza and drinks will be provided before heading back to the church for the community gathering.
Chrysalis is in charge of the community gathering so please help us fill the church with the vibrance of our Chrysalis community!!!
November 6-8, 2009 – Chrysalis Retreat at Hartman Center
We are planning a retreat for any youth or adults that have attended a Chrysalis Flight. The retreat will be full of fun, food and fellowship! We will begin gathering at Hartman Center in Milroy on Nov. 6th at 7 PM and will conclude at 2 PM on Nov. 8th. You are welcome to join us for the weekend or just a day!! Pre-registration is requested for meal preparation and sleeping arrangements.

I would like to remind everyone of the men’s and woman’s walks coming up in a few short weeks, we need background help for both, as well as plenty of agape, and snacks, please do what you can to help.

Talked to Terry about Karen Bowen. She has had two chemo treatments and two to go. Please keep praying and sending cards to her. She wont be back till after Christmas because of her immunity. Please Pray God is giving her healing. DeColores

Come and join us this coming weekend (Nov. 6-8) at Hartman Center.
We have the facility reserved from Friday at 7PM until Sunday at 2PM. Come all weekend or just for a day.
This is an open weekend for members of the Chrysalis community to reunite and hang out. Meals will be provided Saturday and Sunday. If the weather is clear we will have a cookout Saturday night around 6PM.We would love to have to join us. Bring a snack or drink to share.
We are asked for a donation of $15 for one day, $35 for two days and $55 for weekend to cover the cost of the facility and meals.
