UPDATE! On July 14 From Aneta Van Horn:
Just to let everyone know, with the Uganda situation, Pastor Peter was killed along with Becky from Uganda. Please keep the prayers going for the team members. You can read updates on the site www.ugandamission2010.com
UPDATE! On July 13 from Tim and Debbie via Tammy Newberry:
Kris is doing well and knows that it was God’s plan for him to be in Uganda during this tragedy. He asks for us to continue to pray for the mission team members and the people of Uganda.
Community Lay Director ANETA VAN HORN writes:
People from Kim Beck’s church are in Uganda and the restaurant they were in was bombed. Kris Sledge was one of them and has a broken leg, Joanne Kerstetter was in surgery, her granddaughter is being flown back to the US because they wanted to amputate her leg. Two of the Africans–Peter and Francis–they can’t find. The bombing was on world news tonight. You can see more on the internet @ CNN. News keeps coming in in bits and pieces and hopefully what I have here is accurate. Please pray for this situation. This group of 6 was slated to come home on Tuesday night. They had been over there for mission work.
Update: Francis is OK, Kris was sent to the hospital, eye injury and leg, Joanne is in hospital, and her granddaughter,Emily has the leg injury will be sent to a hospital, the Conference is working on arrangements for the hospitals and getting the team home as soon as possilbe. Please keep the prayers flowing. Were still waiting to hear from Pastor Peter and Ivin.
Thank You to all the Prayer Warriors
–Kim Beck

WHO ARE WE?
The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders.
Keystone Walk To Emmaus Community is affiliated with UPPER ROOM Walk to Emmaus. We’re one of four communities in Pennsylvania and one of many in the United States and around the world. For more information about the Walk to Emmaus, click here. See the video An Introduction to Walk to Emmaus.
As a community, we host four different walks (see schedule for dates), two of which happen twice per year. We also have FOURTH DAY gatherings and REUNION GROUPS that happen throughout the year.
- KAIROS Prison Ministry (at Allenwood Federal Penitentiary) International Web site for KAIROS is here.
- Chrysalis Youth Walk (usually in February)
- Men’s Walks (in April and October)
- Women’s Walks (the weekend after to men’s walk in April and October)
Those participating in the walks must be sponsored by a community member. If you have questions, or would like to be sponsored for a walk, contact Community Lay Director, Aneta Van Horn, 717-694-3219, Our mailing address is Keystone Emmaus, PO Box 143, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
Everyone is welcome to join our various gatherings.
See our calendar for more events and a link to our directions to sites page.
In order to participate in a WALK, we’d like you to be sponsored, by someone who has done “the walk.” If you’ve been on a walk before, and would like to participate in BACKGROUND or CANDLELIGHT, contact Aneta Van Horn or Bob Baxter, 717-368-1801 . For places and dates, see the SCHEDULE page.

Hello brothers and sisters! DeColores to you all. This is Joani from the table of Martha who took “thee” walk several years ago with the urging of Ralph Hibbs, his wife Audrey, and Aneta who sat in front of me at conference one year with all her “walkin” t-shirts.
Please pray for two women, Karen and Sue, that I would like to sponsor to a walk in 2010. I also wish to come along due to needing time alone with God. Thanks and this website is just awesome. Joyce Gensib was at my walk. What a wonderful love she had for our Lord, and now she can tell him face to face.
Blessings
Joani
Friends,
Please pray for my husband Joe. We are waiting for a surgery date at Hershey. Last week, being admitted to the local hospital for an infection, he became short of breath and through God’s grace, the technician who did the chest scan went lower and they discovered he has a mass in his right kidney which is growing up through the main vein towards the liver, lungs and heart. They are 90% sure it is renal cell carcinoma but if the tumor is not attached inside the vein and they can pull it out, there is a 40% cure rate. God has planned for this to be discovered and treated and I would just like to ask the community of faith to pray and thank God for what He is going to do.
Dear Friends of Emmaus
Janices Father David is having surgery tommorrow to remove the shunt from the brain to the stomach. It is infected. Please pray for healing. Yours in Christ. Bishop Jim and Janice Sunderland
